Post-Operative
Daily Activities
Plan to take the Motrin 3 times a day for 5 days no matter what. (Even if you feel okay)
Work may be resumed in 1-3 days (depending on how you feel).
Resume driving in 1-2 days.
Bra:
- You may go without a bra. If desired you may wear a loose fitting, non-under wire bra for the next 6 weeks. No push up bra for 6 weeks
Exercise:
No strenuous exercising for 2 weeks such as:
-- No aerobic activities (treadmill, biking, aerobic classes)
-- Do not increase your heart rate over 100 beats per minute
No weights with legs or abdominal area until 4 weeks
No weight lifting for 6 weeks (arms, chest, shoulders)
**Lifting and Holding children are still permitted after surgery as long as it is not uncomfortable to you.
Things to Remember:
After surgery your breast will feel too big, firm, immobile and not part of your body - this is experienced by all patients and will gradually go away over the next 2 months.
For 2-3 days after surgery you may feel some small "crinkly" bubble-like areas under your skin when you fell beneath your breasts - this common and is trapped air from the procedure that will go away on it own.
Call Dr. Adams' office immediately for the following:
Your condition worsens
Sudden onset of pain, fever (oral temperature greater than 101 degrees), nausea, vomiting, bleeding, dizziness, shortness of breath, rash, rapid heart beat, or rapid breathing.
